1. Phu Quoc Island
Phu Quoc, also known as Pearl Island, is the largest island in Vietnam, also the largest island in the archipelago of the Gulf of Thailand. Phu Quoc Island together with other islands form the Phu Quoc island district of Kien Giang province. The whole island district has a total area of 589.23 km² (according to the 2005 land statistics).

Phu Quoc Island is made up of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sediments, including thick layered pebbles, quartz gravel, silica, limestone, rhyolite and felsic. This is an island of miracles, bestowed by nature in a special location, a monsoon tropical climate and located in the Gulf of Thailand. So, it is less affected by natural disasters. The climate here is divided into two distinct seasons: the dry season and the rainy season. In the dry season, Phu Quoc Island is influenced by the Northeast monsoon with the highest temperature of 35 degrees in April and May. In the rainy season, the island is the gateway to receive the West – Southwest monsoon, high humidity from 85 to 90 %, the climate is extremely cool.

Because of favorable climatic conditions, Phu Quoc has an invaluable resource of tropical forests with many rare and precious species of plants and animals. In particular, all forest ecosystems in Vietnam are present in Phu Quoc. Phu Quoc National Forest is like a rare natural museum in Vietnam. Cham Island is an archipelago, located in Tan Hiep island commune, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, located 15 km from Cua Dai coast. Cham Island consists of 8 small islands: Hon Lao, Hon Dai, Hon Mo, Hon Kho mother, Hon Kho con, Hon La, Hon Tai, Hon Ong.

This is also a tourist destination with a cool year-round climate, rich ecosystems, especially seafood and bird’s nest sources. The coral reefs in Cham Island sea area are also highly appreciated by scientists and included in the protection list. 3. Con Dao Island
Con Dao, also known as Con Son, is an island district of Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, with an area of about 76km2, including 16 islands with a population of only about 6000 people.

4. Ly Son Island
Ly Son is the only island district of Quang Ngai, located northeast and 15 nautical miles from the mainland. The island is the remnant of a volcano formed 25-30 million years ago. Ly Son island district consists of 3 islands: a big island called Ly Son or Ré island, a small island in the north of Ly Son called Bo Bai and Mu Cu island in the East of Ly Son. Ly Son Island has many natural caves such as: Cau cave, Co cave, Ke Cuop cave… and many extinct volcanic traces. The waters here are full of seafood and corals.

Recent archaeological findings indicate that people lived on Ly Son Island 2,500 to 3,000 years ago, belonging to the Sa Huynh culture – an ancient culture of Vietnam. Until 2 years ago, the life of the people on Ly Son Island was still rudimentary. The island had no electricity and all household items must be transported from the mainland.

5. Co To Island
Co To is an archipelago located in the east of Quang Ninh province with a total area of 46.2 km², including about 50 large and small islands, of which the two largest islands are Co To and Thanh Lan. The difference of Co To Island from other islands in Vietnam is not only in a particularly important position in terms of national defense and security, diversity of natural landscapes, but also in the cultural features of people here.

7. Nam Du Island
Nam Du is an archipelago of Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province, 83 km from Rach Gia city by sea. Nam Du has an area of about 1,054ha, including 21 different islands, of which 11 islands are inhabited. Possessing pristine beauty with blue sea, white sand, diverse coral reefs, colorful fish and a variety of fresh seafood, Nam Du is like a miniature Ha Long Bay in the heart of the southern sea, brings visitors interesting experiences.

Nam Du has 3 small islands most mentioned are Hon Lon, Hon Ngang and Hon Mau.
Hon Lon is the largest island in the Nam Du archipelago. This is a place with beautiful beaches, vast coral reefs and pristine rocky beaches. Especially there are many years old green coconut trees, with trees up to 70-80 years old.
Hon Ngang is the most prosperous and populous island in the Nam Du archipelago with 900 households, most of whom live on fishing and raising grouper and cobia in cages. The island has the largest seaport of Nam Du, where many fishing boats are anchored. It is also attracted by the rocky cliffs with many strange and unique shapes.

Hon Mau has an area of 200ha with more than 120 households living. This is an island with great potential for developing resort tourism with beautiful and pristine beaches.
